Botanic Records are proud to present a new compilation marking five years of the label; with 100% of proceeds donated equally to Tenaganita and Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2), doing important work for vulnerable communities in our home bases of Malaysia and Singapore.
Meticulously assembled from our catalogue-to-date, Five Years: Botanic Records charts a 16-track course through the progressive, familiar, diverse and - ultimately - contributory patchwork of styles that have come to characterise the label’s output over the last half decade.
From DIY bedroom pop to experimental electronics, the compilation presents a journey not dissimilar to the label’s own; linking front-foot statements of intent to contemplative meditations with a hopeful sense of contribution to the communities we work with and represent through this platform. An original artwork Kembang Sepatu (Hibiscus) from Indonesian artist Rubi completes the release.
